  • 1/4 C honey

  • 1 tbsp orange juice

  • 1/4 C chopped walnuts

  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 C raisins

  • 6 large baking apples

1. Preheat the oven to 350.

2. Combine the honey, orange juice, cinnamon, raisins, and nuts in a bowl.

3. Wash and core the apples, leaving a small plug of approximately a half inch on the bottom end. As the apples are going to be stuffed, the apples should not be cored all the way through.

4. Pare (peel) the upper half of the apples.

5. Fill the apples with the honey mixture.

6. Place each apple on a sheet of foil large enough to wrap the apple in.

7. Dot the apples with the mayonnaise. This step is optional.

8. Bring the four corners of the foil up in a pyramid shape. Fold the opening together loosely to allow for circulation and expansion. Seal by folding the ends and pressing them to the package. Don't press the foil tight against the apples. The apples need to be loosely wrapped.

9. Place the apples on a cookie sheet or shallow pan and bake for 40 to 50 minutes.
