spiced peaches

This particular spiced peach recipe is simple and easy. The taste goes well with ham. Spiced peaches can also be served drizzled in their sauce over vanilla ice cream. And for some trivia to go with the recipe, a google search revealed that the peach tree was first domesticated in China. The word peach is descended from a Latin word meaning Persian apple, from an old misconception that peaches came from Persia (Iran today). Peaches are now grown all over the world. The John Steinbeck novel Sweet Thursday and Cannery Row are set in the context of the peach canning industry of California.
