fudge with nuts and marshmallows

On a rainy day when the kids are trapped in the house, fudge is always a hit.

  • 4 1/2 C sugar

  • 1 large can evaporated milk

  • 2 C miniature marshmallows

  • 1 large package chocolate chips

  • 2 cups chopped nuts

1. Preheat the oven to 350.

2. Soften the butter in the microwave. Softened butter is easier to work with.

3. Butter or spray a baking dish or pan.

4. In a large saucepan, mix together the white sugar, the softened butter, and the milk.

5. At medium heat bring the mixture to a boil. Stir constantly. Cook for approximately 11 minutes.

6. Add the marshmallows, the chocolate chips, and the nuts. Stir all the ingredients together.

7. When the marshmallows and chocolate chips are fully melted and mixed, pour the mixture into the buttered pan.

8. Put the fudge into the preheated oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Check to see if the fudge is done by pushing a toothpick or utensil into the fudge. If it comes out clean the fudge is done. Cooking time varies from oven to oven.

9. Remove the fudge from the oven and let it cool.
