pumpkin pie

This pie recipe is the one we use at our house. It is seasoned with cinnamon, cloves, and ginger. The pumpkin pie recipe can be made with home made or store bought uncooked pie shells. The portions for this recipe are for two pies, but can be halved to make one pie. A home made pie crust recipe link is available at the bottom of the page.

  • 4 eggs

  • 1 1/2 C sugar

  • 2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves

  • 1 can (29 oz) pumpkin

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp ginger

  • 3 1/2 C half & half

  • 2 uncooked pie shells

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

2. Slightly beat the eggs.

3. Add the following ingredients in order as follows to the eggs. Add the sugar, cinnamon, cloves, pumpkin, salt, ginger, and half & half. Stir the ingredients thoroughly together.

4. Divide the pumpkin mixture evenly between the two pie shells.

5. Bake the pumpkin pies for 15 minutes. Then reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees and bake the pies for an additional 45 minutes or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean with nothing attached. Remove the pies from the oven and allow to cool. Serve with whipped cream if desired.
