Baked Chicken in Wine

This recipe has 4 ingredients. The preparation time is minimal. Any kind of chicken pieces can be used, but breasts and thighs are recommended. It's a 1970s recipe, making use of Campbell's soup. If the chicken pieces are purchased on sale, the overall price of the meal is less than 10 dollars. The amount of wine used can be adjusted to taste, from 1 cup to 1/2 cup.

  • 2-3 lbs chicken pieces

  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup

  • 1 can onion soup

  • 2/3 C dry white wine

1. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Spray the bottom of a baking dish with cooking spray or grease with a small amount of butter or margarine.

2. Rinse the chicken pieces off. Remove the skins. Place the pieces in the greased casserole dish.

3. Combine the mushroom soup, onion soup, and dry white wine in a bowl. Stir well.

4. Pour the wine mixture over the chicken pieces.

5. Cover the dish with foil and cook in the oven for 2 1/2 hours or until done. Chicken is done when juices run clear and meat next to the bone is white, or when it temps out at 180 degrees next to the bone.
