The Eternal Wisdom made all things in Love. On Love they all depend, to Love all turn. (Attar)
Wisdom is the perfect blending of intelligence [knowledge] and love. (Sermon on the Mount, p118)
The 3 ways of error into which a student can stray: exuberant violence of will, sentimental emotionalism, and cold loveless struggle for wisdom. (Knowledge of the Higher Worlds and Its Attainment, p215)
One cannot learn wisdom - one must awaken it. (http://www.controverscial.com/Knowledge%20vs%20Wisdom.htm)
Although you may use faith and/or wisdom to guide you in your decision making, they are completely separate and cannot be combined. Wisdom is solely from within you. Faith is sole relying upon something outside. (http://www.nimblewisdom.com/faith/20070418-152336-Faith-vs-Wisdom)
Without wisdom mere knowledge is perilous. And so our primary need now as ever is to seek the beginning of wisdom. By identifying the Christ with spiritual truth - with the point at which divinity reaches humanity - Christians share the Christ with all mankind, through all time. (The Spiritual Revolution)
"Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. (Prov 1:7)"" means "The awe of God shows you the way to enlightment" to a mystic. (Further, p126)
The sense of right and wrong is the beginning of wisdom. (Wisdom, Confucianism, p136)
Proverbs 3:13 teaches that "blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding." However, in Ecc 1:18 the Teacher concludes "For with much [worldly] wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief." Why the difference? In the first case the man who finds wisdom receives it from God. Basing our lives on the wisdom of the world is folly; our lives will be a vain and futile struggle for existence. Knowledge alone does not bring wisdom. Seeking wisdom under the sun has become vanity and chasing after the wind. Futility of trying to find wisdom and meaning in a world without God. Seeking wisdom under the sun rather than finding wisdom based on the fear of the Lord is folly. (Vanity, p15-18)
Wisdom is information rightly considered and rightly applied. Knowledge is raw information and when it is known, it immediately becomes either foolishness or wisdom. Some things are more worth knowing than others. To be wise means to be discriminating. It means differentiating things of eternal value from those with only temporary significance. Knowing God is the highest possible knowledge. (Vanity, p38-39)
Wisdom is being practical, rather than optimistic or pessimistic' (Randy)
A WISEMAN knows his foolishness and a fool thinks he is WISE. God makes the wise fools and the fools (for Him) wise. God's creation shows us scientist (wiseman) how foolish we can be. In ancient times they thought the earth was flat and that the sun revolved around the earth. Even today, we can only theorize about black holes, aliens, etc., but can be prove it. If we can't prove these material things, then imagine how much more difficult it must be to proving spiritual things. In fact, we need God's help, but we are too vain to seek it. Seek and it shall be given (???). Fear of the Lord is beginning of WISDOM (Prov 1:7) which means reverence and respect for Goodness is the beginning of wisdom. The fear of the Lord is to hate evil (Prov 8:13). Also, he who loves correction loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid (Prov 12:1). We are stupid because in our arrogance and pride we don't seek correction. Each person blames his sin on other factors. We need God, but don't recognize that fact in our pride and arrogance, and God desires us for a marriage. (Randy)
The wise man chooses the path of joy; the fool takes the path of pleasure. (Wisdom, Hinduism, p12)
My response to the angry protesters awaken me to God's wisdom in me. I was humble at a time when the only gift that I could offer was love. (Awakening, p150)
