*NOTHING - also see EMPTINESS, EVIL, HUMAN
In breaking through to Nothingness, all is realized in Nothingness, just as Nothingness is realized in the all. "Peering into the darkness where nothing is recognized, but present in this darkness is precisely what the person seeks... and sees nothing of the essence of this abyss, but from this abysmal darkness the lava of presence glows ‑ and that is what is existentially decisive and motivating." (Buddhism, p167)
The Son had direct access to God because he was free from ideas and images of God. The nonconceptual nature of God is often described as the mystical night. Night designates the contemplation of invisible things. (Buddha, Christ, p161)
nothing as in being physically evident to us (Randy)
We have to leave our denials of God's attributes behind. Then and only then shall we achieve an ecstatic union with God. It is more accurate to call God "Nothing" and if in prayer we plunge into silence and darkness which is beyond intellect [cloud of unknowing], then God will come to meet us. Once God is seen as a wholly other reality, he can easily become a mere idol and a projection, which enables human beings to externalize and worship their own prejudices and desires. (Hist, p126-8,131)
I wonder if: Satan is evil (imperfection) taken to the infinite extreme resulting in nothingness (non-existance) because its inheritant hatred is self-destructive. - see GOD for reverse. Thus I wonder if: Satan (not evil) even exists, but is just a figment of our imaginations? (Randy)
Since Being is "Wholly Other," it is in fact Nothing - no thing, neither an object nor a particular being. Yet it is what makes all other existence possible. (Atheist philosopher Martin Heidegger (1899-1976), Hist, p388)
