*MIND - also see KNOWLEDGE, WILL
"Anyone who wishes to come after me, let him forsake himself." What better way can one forsake and scorn himself and the world than by refusing to turn his MIND to either of them or to anything about them? (The Cloud of Unknowing, in the Book of Privy Counseling, p171)
Our goal to grow is simly change our thinking and wake up to the unlimited, innocent son of God that we already are - the healing of our minds [through forgiveness] - He is a Presence that pervades the unconsciousness level of all living minds. Wrong-mindedness is based on fear and chains us to the world. Right-mindedness is based on love and reveals to us the real world. (ACIM Intro, p23-5)
All of us possess the energy of mindfulness, the enrgy of the Holy Spirit, only its intensity and strength vary in each person. Our daily practice is to increase, to strengthen that power. When the Holy Spirit is present, Jesus is already here. He does not have to be resurrected. We can feel Him right now. Dwelling mindfully, we know that each moment is a moment of renewal. (Buddha, Christ, p136-7)
Men want God in the mind, not in the heart, for if God is had merely in the mind He is held tentatively, and the will is free to be its own master. (Augustine)
