All men have oneness with the Supreme Father ‑ our souls are drops in the boundless ocean of His Being. But ordinary men are not conscious of their divine inner nature. They have lost their awareness of this unity. The Master, on the other hand, is always conscious ot it and knows his relationship with the Father. (Yoga, p44)
The Greek preposition pros is used in relationship between 2 people meaning "having regard to" and indicates "devotion." John 1:1b "the Word was with God" could be "the Word dwelt with God" (NEB) or "the Word was face to face with God" or "the Word was in God's presence" (REB). (Bible Versions, p108)
Most people enter into relationships with an eye toward what they can get out of them, rather than what they can put into them. The purpose of a relationship is to decide what part of yourself you'd like to see "show up" not what part of another you can capture and hold. Paradox: the purpose of relationship is not to have another who might complete you; but to have another with whom you might share your completeness. We tragically misunderstand that your fondest hope has to do with your beloved other rather than your beloved Self. The test of your relationships has had to do with how well the other lived up to your ideas and how well you saw yourself living up to his or hers. Yet the only true test has to do with how well you live up to yours. If you cannot love your Self, you cannot love another. The soul has come to the body for the purpose of evolution. You are evolving, you are becoming...If you and your mate agree that the purpose of your relationship is to create opportunity ten for growth, not an obligation, for full Self expression, for lifting your lives to their highest potential, for healing every false thought or small idea, and for ultimate reunion with God through the communion of your two souls. (Conversations, p122-6,141)
Our relationship with God should be of appreciation for the gifts He has given us and repentance for our shortcomings. If wonder if the Holy Spirit is the relationship between the Father and Son? Also relationships evolve like anything else. (Randy)
Living the faith means being in right RELATIONSHIP with self (INTEGRITY), God (FAITHFULNESS), and others (CARING and SHARING). (Common Sense, p178-181)
