*MOSAIC
A mosiac is divided pieces that form a whole picture (or like glimpses). I wonder if: the Mosiac law was (612) pieces of law that made the whole law (of love for God and neighbor that Jesus taught). (Randy)
This document is like a mosaic - picture of spiritual glimpses and like a jig saw puzzle where 2,3,4 or more topics (words) are contained / connected / related all in one sentence. (Randy)
The "Imitation of Christ" unfolds gradually displaying the patterns of an intricate mosaic: Look closely and we shall see exquisitely crafted tiles: stand back a bit and dominant colors, subtle shadings and v aried textures come to life; stand back further and the whole picture takes shape. (Imitation, p24)
Examining self, friendship, silence, sin, etc. are all difficult topics requiring a deep exploration of historical, theological and linguistic context. By putting such detailed examination aside for the moment, step back, and see the whole picture that sits before us. A person stands before God, profoundly alone; God embraces him with a deep and unutterable love; and with great humility he strives to love God in return. All else comes second; all else fades to metaphor and simile. (Imitation, p27)
