*SYNERGY - see COMPLETE, WHOLE, UNITY, GROW, LIFE, CEATIVITY, SYNTHESIS, EVOLUTION, ENERGY, TRANSCENDANCE, HARMONY
Selfishness and selflessness is the basis for a high synergy society: a collection of individuals working together, not because they are 'do‑gooders', but because they are spontaneously in tune with the whole.
(TM, p159)
An example of synergy is strength from unity of diversity such in an organization like the school district. All of the various departments of DP, P/R, Pers, Purch, Budget, AP, Whse, Cafteria, Trans, Facilities, Custodial, Craftsman, Teachers, and Admin are united in our efforts to the school district. A school district could not exist with only teachers. The diversity enriches our independence (ie. for not having to outsource). (Randy, 3/15/97)
The world is a Gestalt with the whole infinitely more than the sum of its parts. No longer content to understand nature by analyzing separate parts, science has become increasingly interested in the relationships between these parts. Modern physics describes the universe as an integrated whole which transcends polarization. (Tao Peace, p30)
If wonder if: God created man, having faith in us that a synergy would develop, to advance beyond the bounds of God could achieve all by himself, like another dimension? (Randy)
An example is a band or symphony, where the whole (concerto) is greater than the sum of its parts. Note that each seemly insignificant piece is significant since any piece one out of tune or out of harmony could ruin it. It only takes one broken piece to bring down a whole system. For examples, a car with a flat tire or bad value, or a computer with a bad memory chip, or people with physical, emotional, intellectual, or spiritual problems. (Randy)
An example is 1 + 1 = 2 versus 1 - 1 = 0 (Randy)
For example, if the City and Schools work together, then we have both 8mm and 1/2 cart at our disposal. (Randy)
