Professor Hans Kung said: "Until there is peace between religions, there can be no peace in the world." (Buddha, Christ, p2)

Somehow I think crossing from this life into life eternal will be like when I went to Italy and felt as if I had been there before. I pray that each of you find God's special gift to us all: the gift of peace. When we are at peace, we find the freedom to be most fully who we are, even in the worst of times. We let go of what is nonessential and embrace what is essential. We empty ourselves so that God may more fully work within us. And we become instruments in the hands of the Lord. If we seek communion with the Lord, we must pray. (Gift of Peace, p152-3)

It is the peace that Jesus' farewell gift to his disciples (John 14:27), the peace of God that passes beyond all understanding (Phil 4:7). (Dark Night, p99)

Peace comes from transcending polarities with a vision of the larger whole. Balanced, responsible, and at peace with themselves, they radiate peace to all they meet. Regular meditation not only restores our inner harmony and vital energy, but provides us with an actual experience of the peace we seek. "Islam" is derived from "Salam" or "Shalom" - the Arabic word for peace - and means "submission" or literally "peace through submission to the will of Allah (the Islamic name for God)". (HJ 1/9/97)

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. (John 14:27)

When people are at peace with themselves, the words of others cannot harm them! Peace is a state of grace. Seek peace interiorly. Seek Me interiorly! You cannot reflect peace exteriorly without first achieving it interiorly! To receive My peace interiorly, you must seek Me, and live in My truth. You must accept Me, and abandom your control and your total being unto Me! (IAM,p101-2)

As I contemplate that unseen, spiritual part of me, I feel it expand to become the greater part of me, filled to overflowing with his love. When my ego tries to dominate, I have learn to release myself and allow the spirit to prevail. Then I am calm again. I return to a deep sense of peace and knowing that can be felt only when my spirit is in tune with God and I can sense his presence within me. (Awakening, p217)
