*SUFFICIENCY - also see BALANCE and FULLNESS
God speaks powerfully in nature, word, and person. Only when all forms of revelation are taken together can we speak of the sufficiency of revelation. Subtract one and we are left with a truncated view of both God and creation. Note the insufficiency of both the Bible alone and natural wisdom alone. The war of either-or is a futile battle. We need to affirm the sufficiency of revelation in its fullness rather than merely in part. (Vanity, p54-57)
Sufficiency is also a synergy where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. For example, a cart with 2 whole wheels (pieced together from 4 halfs) is much more useful than a cart with 4 half wheels. Our fallen/sinful nature makes us closed minded to ourselves rather than open to the ideas of compromise and unity. (Randy)
