Advent comes from the latin word "adventus" which means coming. In addition to the anticipation of Jesus' birth, Christians anticipate his second coming at the end of times. (PS, 12/96)

Advent is the EVENT of Jesus' 1st coming including the preparation before it and thus similiarly with the 2nd coming. (Randy)
