This great revolution (of scientific enlightenment) which has come to the human race is not a material revolution but a spiritual revolution. We have failed to give God the credit. We have set up false gods and we worshipped them idolatrously. The ultimate liberation of men will come as they understand the spiritual significance of their new relationship to matter. When we understand that the new dominion which is being expressed by men is indeed a spiritual revolution, we will be at the beginning of wisdom. The truly unifying forces of modern life will reduce the disunities. Knowledge will be leavened by understanding. Our task is to perceive and to live in conformity with the spiritual power which has brought us out of so much darkness toward the full glory of the day. (The Spiritual Revolution)
