We have failed to recognize our deeper divine character where, somewhere within us all, there does exist a supreme Self who is eternally at peace. Before you realize this truth you will always be in despair. Epictetus said: "You bear God within you, poor wretch, and know it not." (p122) The search for contentment is not merely a self-preserving and self-benefiting act, but also a generous gift to the world. Clearing out all your misery gets you out of the way. You cease being an obstacle. Only then are you free to serve and enjoy other people (p260-1) (Eat, Pray, Love)

Be content with what you have and with you don't have. (p256). (p290) (Spirituality for Dummies)

Riches are not from abundance of worldly goods, but from a contented mind. God loveth those who are content. (Islam, Wisdom, p320)
He who has surrendered his will to His Will is content because His will is a balance between victory and defeat. (Randy)
