*INDEPENDENT
Just as parenting teaches children how to get along without you, in the same sense, God's greatest moment is when you realize you need no God. A true Master is not the one with the most students, but one who creates themost Masters. A true teacher is not the one with the most knowledge, but one who causes the most others to have knowledge. And a true God is not One with the most servants, but One who serves the most, thereby making gods of all others. (Conversations, p114-5)
"And God blessed the 7th day and made it holy." To set apart one day a week for freedom, a day of detachment from the vulgar, of independence of external obligations, a day on which we stop worshipping the idiols of technical civilization. The solution of mankind's most vexing problems will not be found in renouncing technical civilization, but in attaining some degree of independence of it. (Judaism, Wisdom, p223)
