*RELATIVE/*RELATIVITY - see ABSOLUTE
What has been described as the fall of Adam was actually his upliftment - when the world of relativity started - for in being the first to make a "wrong" choice, Adam and Eve produced the possibility of making any choice at all. Love is the ultimate reality. The feeling of love is your experience of God. In the highest Truth, love is all there is, all there was, and all there ever will be. When you move into the absolute, you move into love. The realm of the relative was created in order that I might experience My Self. The relative is a created reality, yet the creation can seem very real. Its purpose is to seem so real, we accept it as truly existing. In creating the realm of the relative - I have produced an environment in which you may choose to be God experience the Godhead. Fear is the other end of love. In creating the realm of the relative, I first created the opposite of My Self. The Masters are those who have discovered the secret of the relative world - and refused to acknowledge its reality. In short, Masters are those who have chosen only love - in every instance, every moment, every circumstance. (Conversations, p55-7)
Opposite ends of the great polarity - the Alpha and the Omega - allows the system of "relativity" to be. (Conversations, p15)
We can get lost in our new aperspectial awareness because all perspectives start to become relative and interdependent; there is nothing absolutely foundational. But the fact that all perspectives are relative does not mean that no perspective has any advantage at all. "It's all relative." (Everything, p192)
Everything is relative. Comparing ourselves to others rather than Jesus is like comparing our jump of 6 feet vs. others of 5 feet off the dock to an island 1 mile away. (Randy, but I read this somewhere)
Everything is relative is also like comparing fragments rather than to the whole. For example, being depressed because the Sunday School lesson didn't go well is nothing compared to the Soup Kitchen where people are struggling day by day just for survival. Or not having new shoes compared to the 1-legged person or not seeing well compared to the blind person or depressed compared to the homeless beggar (song "Another day in paradise").(Randy)
Moral relativism is the teaching that axioms of right or wrong vary according to time and place and custom: there are no absolutes, merely the norms of particular societies. Moral relativism is a great evil, one of the greatest of all evils because it makes possible so many other evils. (Quest, p67)
With Newton's theory, if a pulse of light is sent from place to another, different observers would agree on the time that the journey took, but would not always agree on how far the light traveled, therefore different speeds for the light. In RELATIVITY, if the speed of light is constant (186,000 miles per hour) between observers, then the distance may be different, therefore the time must also be different to each observer. THERE IS NO SUCH THING ARE ABSOLUTE TIME!!!
For example, light from Jupiter's moon (after it comes out from behind it) takes 1000 seconds longer to reach the earth when we are on opposite sides of sun. Also as the earth circles the sun, light speed from a star is the same as we approach and retreat (light from stars approching us is not the speed of the star's approach plus the speed of light). Also see EQUIVALENCE of mass and energy (E=mc2). (A Brief History of Time, p21)
