*LISTEN - also see TALK, PRAYER
God is willing to listen when we pray to him. God does listen and he can alter the course of events. (Prayer, p153-5)
The Holy Spirit's Voice is as loud as your willingness to listen. (ACIM Intro, p39)
A big part of love is listening. (sign at N. Assembly of God)
Talking is sharing, but listening is caring. (Sign at N. Assembly of God)
Listen, not only to God, but even more so to others. Especially family, friends and associates. Eyes to see and ears to hear the Holy Spirit as Jesus said "Lo, I am with you always." If wonder if the Holy Spirit that is now present may already be Jesus' 2nd coming? (Randy, 6/97)
I talk to everyone. All the time. The question is not to whom do I talk, but who listens? I do not communicate by words alone. In fact, rarely do I do so. My most common form of communication is through feelings, thoughts, and experiences. Words may help you understand something. Experience allows you to know. The supreme irony is that you have placed so much importance on the Word of God and so little on the experience. Words are the least reliable purveyor of Truth. I cannot tell you My Truth until you stop telling Me yours. (Conversations, p3-4, 8)
I will contrive to bring you the answer. The whole universe will I use to do this. So be on the lookout. This book is far from My only tool. Yoy may ask a question, then put this book down. But watch. Listen. The words to the next song you hear. The information in the next article you read. The story line of the next movie you watch. The chance utterance of the next person you meet. Or the whisper of the next river, the next ocean, the next breeze that caresses your ear - all these devices are Mine; all these avenues are open to Me. I will speak to you if you will listen. (Conversations, p58)
