Blessed are the merciful for they should obtain mercy (Matt 5: ). We need to have a healthy sense of sin and know when we are guilty and know false guilt. The price we must pay for God's mercy is to forgive others and also the fact that we don't forget, whereas, God forfives and forgets. (Fr. Champlin)
