Alone

In Mark 2:2-5 Jesus heals the paralytic not on the basis of his own faith alone, but upon seeing the faith of his companions, this suggests that we should not attempt to go it alone. (Prayer, p67)
In the process of purification, a person feels hand over, lonely and abandoned - the dark night of the soul. (Meaning, p286)
Beginners look in a mirror and see ourselves as standing naked before God, alone with the Alone. We should see our weaknesses and see behind the mask of self-sufficiency. As our illusions are stripped away, we cannot help but suffer. We can only trust that in our weakness God will be our strength (2 Cor 12:9-10). (Dark Night, p33)
I wonder: how alone God must feel? And if that was the reason for creation and that's why we we created in his image? If so, then we need to do a much better job of loving Him!!! (Randy)
