When you are ultimately truthful with yourself, you will eventually realize and confess that "I am Buddha," I am Spirit. Anything short of that is a lie. The deepest recesses of your consciousness directly intersect Spirit itself, in the supreme identity. "Not I, But Christ liveth in me." (Everything, p132)
Buddha (I am Spirit), Dharma (objective truth), Sangha (community)
Buddhism was founded in 528BC in northeast India and based on the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama, who was known as the Buddha, or Enlightened One. The Buddha rejected signicant aspects of Hindu philosophy and opened his movement to members of all castes, denying that a person's spiritual worth is a matter of birth. Currently there are approx 250 million members. The Four Noble Truths:
1. Life is suffering in its very nature.
2. All suffering is caused by ignorance of the nature of reality.
3. Suffering can be ended by overcoming ignorance and attachment.
4. The path to the suppression of suffering is the Noble Eightfold Path of right views, right intention, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindedness, & right contemplation. (Funk & Wagnalls Encyclopedia)
There is Buddha for those who don't know what he is, really. There is no Buddha for those who know what he is, really. (Wisdom, Buddhism, p103)
