Life

A perfect diamond is never going to change. It may be beautiful, but it is not alive. Life is permeated with assymetry, imperfection, and disharmony. If we can continuously connect to the fundamental ground ground then regardless of whether it is assymetrical or disconsonant, sharp or flat, we are in harmony with it. (Stillness, p231)

Life is a creation, not a discovery. You do not live each day to discover what it holds for you, but to create it. Therefore, the process of creation must include belief, or knowing. This is absolute faith. This is beyond hoping. This is knowing of a certainity ("By your faith shall ye be healed"). The doing part of always includes knowing. It is a gut-level clarity, a total certainity, a complete acceptance as reality of something. This place of knowing is a place of intense and incredible gratitude. It is a thankfulness in advance. If there is some aspect of creation you find you do not enjoy, bless it and simply change it. Call forth a new reality. Think a new thought, say a new word, do a new thing. Life is external togetherness with God.

"I came that that they may have life, and have it abundantly" (Jn 10:10). "The kingdom of God is within you": therefore seek not to enter this kingdom from outside. It is within yourselves that you gain access to the kingdom of God, to freedom and life in their fullness. To become aware of this is to be reborn. Those who have been awakened to life are the new creation of which Paul speaks. What God intends for all of us is an existence in which we know ourselves to be manifestations of the divine life. What is the ultimate meaning of life?

Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God (1st temptation of Jesus to turn stones into bread). (Dt 8:3)

I am the way, the truth, and the life. (John 14:6)

Death came through sin, Rom 5:12, which is rebellion against God. Sin thus involved the forfeiting of the life. The separation from God could be removed only by a sacrifice or giving of the life. Since Christ had no sins of his own to die for, His death was voluntary and vicarious. (p368, Vines)

The meaning and purpose of life has always been a mystery, but a Christain knows that the purpose, as revealed by God, is to love Him and neighbor. This is not a task for us, but a personal relationship to be accepted from God.

The tree of life is the human body with the nerves as branches. The tree of the nervous system bears many enjoyable fruits or sensations of sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch. In these man may rightfully indulge; but he was forbidden the experience of sex, the apple at the center of the body (in the midst of the garden).The serpent is coiled-up spinal energy that stimulates the sex nerves. Adam is reason and Eve is feeling. When the emotion (Eve consciousness) is overpowered by the sex impulse, his reason (Adam) also succumbs. (Yogi, p176)
