Darkness of the Night
(Version ll)
Last night when the veil of darkness fell on the bay
There was no moon or stars on display
A blanket of cloud had separated heavens from the earth.
It was as if the universe was sulking at planet earth
There was occasional hooting of owls
And sometimes barking of stray dogs
The hopelessness of his plight
Perfectly matched darkness of the night
The misery he felt inside his broken heart
Was mirror image of darkness of the night.
