This quarter elective is designed for all 9-12 grade students to expose welding and welding related career opportunities in the manufacturing, construction, and engineering career pathways. Students develop fundamental skills and knowledge through a variety of activities that incorporate industry safety, print reading, measurement, equipment set up and operation, layout and tacking, and quality inspection. Students learn and apply several welding and cutting processes including SMAW (ARC/stick), GMAW (MIG/wire feed), oxy-fuel cutting (OFC), and plasma arc cutting (PAC).
