The Wisconsin Youth Apprenticeship program integrates school-based and work-based learning. Participants will continue taking high school or technical college courses while working as an apprentice at a participating local business. This program is open to all high school juniors and seniors with a career goal, positive attendance record, and who are on track for graduation.
YA program areas include: Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources; Architecture and Construction; Arts, A/V Technology and Communications; Business Administration; Education; Finance; Government & Public Administration; Health Science; Hospitality and Tourism; Human Services; Information and Technology; Law, Public Safety, Corrections & Security; Manufacturing; Marketing; Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM); and Transportation, Distribution and Logistics.
Students participating in the YA program must also be enrolled in coursework that totals 1 credit during the school year that supports the selected YA program area.
