Explore creative design processes that combine digital and traditional approaches. Design Fundamentals is a hands-on, project-based course that develops and improves basic 2D and 3D design skills and applies them in real world design projects in a variety of Arts, Audio/Video Technology and Communications and Manufacturing career pathways.  Topics that will be covered include Form vs Function / Materials & Processes, Ergonomics, Aesthetics, Target Markets, Design Elements and Principles, PLAY/Construction/Deconstruction, Customer Empathy, Prototyping, etc. using hands-on materials, digital drawing tablets, 3-D printers, and a variety of digital applications. Projects include, but are not limited to, basic introductions to game design, fashion design, product design, jewelry design etc.
