In World Literature, students study the literature of countries other than the United States and England to better understand the culture, religion, and people of the world. Literature from India, Iran, Iraq, Egypt, China, Japan, Africa and various European countries are all read and interpreted. All types of literature are studied, and some history and cultural background of the countries is also included. In addition to the literature, writing is emphasized. Several novels are read in their entirety: Siddhartha, Persepolis, and The Stranger. This class is recommended for university-bound students.
