A significant focus of this course is preparing students for successful completion of the national course specific AP Examination given in May of each year. Students who pass the exam may earn college credit(s). A fee is charged for taking this exam.
Calculus is one of the most important of all branches of mathematics and is considered a primary building block for most areas of science. It is required at the college level for virtually all math and science-related fields and many areas of business. This course is the equivalent of one semester of calculus offered at most colleges and universities. Upon completion of the course, students may be able to earn credit for one semester of college calculus by attaining a satisfactory score on the Advanced Placement Calculus exam-level AB. A TI-83 or TI-84 graphing calculator is recommended.
