Graduation Information

Valedictorian Selection

Chippewa Falls Senior High School has had the honor of awarding three to four Academic Excellence Scholarship (AES) awards each year based on the high school enrollment reported to the Wisconsin Department of Instruction (DPI) on the third Friday in September. Student AES recipients also often earn the title of Valedictorian.

Recipient criteria: The State of Wisconsin requires that students maintain a 4.0 cumulative GPA and our school district designates remaining criteria. The Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District has established tie-breaker criteria to include the student's highest ACT score that is sent to our high school by the end of first semester. If there continues to be a tie, additional factors will be considered by guidance counselors and building administration.

Honor Cord Criteria

Honor cords for graduation are awarded based on the following GPA guides after the third quarter of the senior year:

Gold Cord: 4.0

Silver Cord: 3.9 to 3.99

White Cord: 3.75 to 3.89

Students can view their current GPA by accessing their transcript on the Infinite Campus Student Portal under Documents.

Senior Acknowledgement Programs

Senior Scholarship Night

Senior Scholarship Night is an annual program celebrating graduating seniors for their academic achievements by announcing scholarship awards. The Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District Foundation acknowledges their scholarship recipients on this evening as well. The program is usually held the third Wednesday in May and students will receive an invitation to attend with family and friends. It is important for seniors to contact Student Services if they have received notification of any scholarship award, so they may be recognized at Senior Scholarship Night.
