Create multiple 3-dimensional artworks using various mediums and a wide variety of sculpting tools. Sculptures will be both constructed/additive and carved/subtractive. Exploration and experimentation is highly encouraged. Most resources will be provided, but students may also bring in materials that are recycled or from the natural environment. Future Ready Skills, to better prepare students for all careers, are a significant focus of all visual arts courses. Sculpture, in addition to Ceramics and Visual Art Foundations, may be taken in preparation for the AP Art and Design 3D portfolio. This course is recommended for all students, especially those interested in the Arts, Audio/Video Technology, and Communications career pathways.
