Experience Based Courses

Experience based offerings provide students with applicable, hands-on opportunities to enrich their college and career readiness. These courses are designed to be intentionally used as tools to enhance a student’s academic experience.

Grading: All experience based courses are offered as Pass/Fail, unless otherwise noted. Pass/Fail grading has a different impact on your overall GPA calculation. It is important to note this when planning your course selections. The GPA on your high school transcript will reflect the results of all classes receiving a letter grade. When you pass a pass/fail class, your GPA remains unaffected and the credits count on your transcript. If you fail, though, the zero points can harm your GPA since you are adding zero points into your GPA calculation and the credits will not count on your transcript.

Students are allowed to take up to 2 credits of experience based course offerings that best fit their needs or interests.
There are two exceptions to the 2 credit limit: Youth Apprenticeship and Work Release.
