Geometry is the second high school math course taken after successful completion of Algebra 1. It is the study of Euclidean geometry which covers various topics including points, lines, planes, angles, triangles, polygons, circles, 3-dimensional solids, as well as area, volume and basic trigonometric relationships. Additionally, students learn logical reasoning through formal and informal proofs which can be applied in a variety of courses as well as “real life” situations. Upon successful completion of geometry, students can enroll in an Algebra 2 course. A scientific calculator is recommended for this course.
