This course is designed for students to provide assistance to special education students in an adapted visual art class. Students are expected to provide hands-on guidance, and small group supervision of special education students. Students in this course do not need to have any prior art skill or training to be successful in this class. Student assistants will work regularly with Special Education and Art staff to provide guidance, technical training, and answer questions. Students that are interested in education, visual arts, speech and language, physical/ occupational/ psychological therapies, as well as human service careers are strongly encouraged to enroll. Students must sign a contract/confidentiality waiver.


Students are allowed to take up to 2 credits of experience based course offerings that best fit their needs or interests.
Classroom assistant courses will count towards the 2 credit experience based course offering maximum.
