Prerequisite: Proficient in Ceramics Studio

Credit Group: Elective

Build on the skills learned in Ceramics Studio and create higher level projects integrating previous techniques and approaches with sophisticated handbuilding and wheel throwing techniques and approaches including advanced wheel thrown forms, handle pulling, spouts, lidded forms, advanced coil techniques, contemporary organic building techniques, advanced slab techniques, and new glazing techniques. Students will create a variety of projects, not limited to vases, pitchers, bowls, lanterns, fountains, and tea pots. This course is enjoyed by all students, but is especially recommended to those interested in the Education, Arts, Audio/Video Technology, and Communications career pathways.


Advanced Ceramics, in addition to Visual Art Foundations, may be taken in preparation to submit a 3D Design Portfolio in AP Art and Design.
