French 1

Note: French 1 at Chippewa Falls Middle School is equivalent to French 1 at the high school level. If students at CFMS have completed an entire year of French 1, they should enroll in French 2. However, if CFMS students only complete 1 semester of French 1, they should sign up for French 1, quarter 2 only.

Acquire skills in reading, listening, writing, and some speaking in French in a way you can understand. Develop language confidence discussing topics such as families, school, daily life and history.  Gain cultural awareness of Francophone countries such as France, Quebec, and Northern Africa (Senegal, Algeria, Ivory Coast). French 1 is a safe spot to use the language and to make mistakes. Hearing and using French every day in class is a great place to start!
