This course is designed to investigate environmental issues, their causes and possible solutions. Major units include: 1) Sustainability & Environmental History, 2) Surface Water Ecology (lake & river studies on local sites), 3) Water Resources (water cycle, municipal water supplies, and global water use) and 4) Waste Management (Solid & Hazardous). Students will do field work at local sites. Environmental Science is intended for students who wish to know more about their environment and environmental issues, so they can make a difference.
