Writing with Style is a quarter-long course in which students will grow as writers and individuals, learning to accept feedback, give constructive criticism, and embark on creative writing endeavors. Students will participate in daily exercises, activities, and sharing of personal writing to explore descriptive writing, characterization, and fiction genres. Students will also propose and develop a longer project in the form of their choosing, such as a short story, novelette, collection of poetry, collection of songs, short film script, one-act play, or graphic novel. This is a course for students of all ability levels, but students should enjoy writing and be prepared to produce a significant amount of writing.
