Sharpie on paper 30cm x 46cm September 2019

For this piece I referred to the source image of myself entirely without looking at the paper I was marking. Since sharpie does not allow the artist to edit, the result is a piece that is free of changes and has more raw emotion. The composition was also an important factor in this piece, as the subject is almost entirely surrounded by negative space and pushed to one side of the paper.
