I used this piece to explore the irony surrounding the fact that as humans are getting healthier, our planet is wasting away. I altered the trope of the child’s letter to his mother, asking her not to smoke cigarettes by making it about throwing away recyclables. It's easy for people to see how smoking could negatively impact their child’s future health, but it is often more difficult for them to see their recycling habits in the same light.
