I wanted to experiment with another medium that I never worked with before. Doing photography required a different skill set such as being able to understand the different effects lighting and angles would have on the picture. The purpose of the piece was being able to portray a person in a space without them actually being present. Each photo depicts my family members; the kitchen represents my mother, the living room shows my older sister, as well as her husband, and the desk symbolizes my little sister. I wanted to capture these spaces because it captures their essence, passions, interests and personal spaces. I had to use the editing software on my phone in order to adjust the saturation, brilliance, exposure, highlights, etc. Also, the effect of making the dimensions small contributes to this theme of intimacy.
