Postcards

Paper and micron pen 12.7cm x 58.4cm January 2019

I have explored the relationship between place and memory in this piece. I chose to make the drawings the size of postcards, as postcards imply memory and a valued past. The lack of color evokes coloring books, bringing the piece into the realm of childhood and implying that the memories in the postcards are yet to be made, or yet to be “colored in”.
