I Love my Dollhouse so Much I Want to Make Myself Really Small so I Can Fit in it and Live There Forever, but That’s What Normal Houses Are

Paper 7.6cm x 11.4cm December 2019

In this piece, I explored the relationship between home and memory. The small scale and details of the home reveal an obsessive desire to reconstruct and preserve the home as remembered - in fact, it is modeled from my own childhood memory of a home. The exterior is white, while the interior is colored in warm tones and lit from within, inviting the viewer in. The walls are papered with a smaller version of my piece Wallpaper, tying together the exhibition and the motif of the home. I chose to make the house on a small scale associated with doll houses and childhood.
