Peeking Out the Window

The colors in this Schiele-inspired self-portrait show myself in darkness, surrounded by light, to show how I am peeking out into the world, pondering whether I will be accepted if I choose to express myself more. I’m still not confident though, which is indicated by my body language: I’m looking away from the viewer and reaching back behind my head.
