Silkscreen print and marker on paper, 41x51, January 2019

While sketching in my notebook, I became fascinated with the idea of portraying human expression through only straight lines. I attempted to translate that concept by silk screening four different faces onto paper. I realized, however, that the silkscreen did not produce clean facial features. Thus, I decided to silkscreen the background and marker the face on instead. Since the marker was so bold, I decided only to create one face, as I thought anymore faces would overcrowd the piece.
