Still Life of Miniature Ceramic Chair

Acrylic on masonite 30 cm x 30 cm September 2018

As my first piece, I choose to depict a tiny model chair up close. I focused on how light was interacting with this curvy chair, heightening the chiaroscuro, as a way of learning how to depict depth. The blended brushstrokes with purple tinted shadows creates a softness to depict the smooth finish of the chair. The zoomed in and intimate composition demonstrates the connection I want the viewer to have with the subject matter.
