The Birds 1

I have been deeply terrified of birds since I was about 7 years old and got stuck in a greenhouse with a pheasant. Since then flapping has always haunted me. This has been interesting living in New York city which may have ten times more pigeons than people. The panic I display upon altercations with pigeons is much to the amusement of my peers and they tend to question me and ridicule my reactions. I made the pigeon piece to display these animals the way I see them- daunting, menacing, creatures of hell- hence the red background and vicious glare.
