Lighthouse on Cloudy Hill

Originally this was going to be a rendition of a fellow classmates photograph. After creating multiple layers on clear plastic sheet, I was going to layer the marker sketches to create a bit of depth. But exploring alternate backgrounds created a much more visually stunning dynamic between the sketch and the photograph of graphic gray clouds, so I used those instead. The clouds have the effect of drawing you into the background, past the lighthouse, which itself creates a new kind of depth.
