Untitled Acrylic Paintings

Inspired by Surrealist automatism, I painted automatically with the hope of uncovering parts of my unconscious mind. I found the color palette and the brush stroke reflected my mood. The paintings, however, were not truly automatic as I did, find myself touching up the edges of the various shapes I had painted. My choice to refine my piece indicates that I wanted to find a middle ground between pure self-exploration and viewer engagement.
