HAPPY FACES

My initial idea for this piece came after seeing a poster for the Marvel movie Venom, designed by Lindeman & Associates (LA). I found the smile of the poster to be disconcerting yet mysterious. What I realized after looking at this poster was how it evoked these emotions within me, and this revealed to me a new technique that artists can use to catch the attention of the viewer. Striving to recreate this theme, I wanted each face to evoke a mixture of feelings and emotions within the viewer, such as confrontation, surprise, and even humor.
